During Sunday's instalment of BBC Breakfast, host Rachel Burden and Ben Thompson were discussing the clip.

Joining them in the discussion were guests Sonia Sodha and George Parker.

Before the duo gave their opinions, Rachel said: “I can hear people around the country groaning, ‘Enough of Partygate already, why should we care about this new video?’"

Her comment didn't go unnoticed and was supported by viewers as they took to Twitter to share their view.

One wrote: "Do we really need to see more from Partygate? Let it drop, I would have run with Putin meeting African nation leaders which hadn't made it on to the breakfast agenda."

The video showed official members of the Conservative Party drinking, dancing, and mocking lockdown restrictions.

The Christmas party that took place in 2020, was during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, when the British public was banned from socialising inside.

The clip, obtained by The Mirror, showed two members of staff dancing around with a sign which read: “Please keep your distance."
