I was on Love Island but quit fame for a normal job after being an influencer drove me to booze, says Paige Thorne

LOVE Island's Paige Thorne has revealed how being an Influencer made her turn to booze.

The Welsh star, 25, shot to fame as one of the original Islander on last year's series.

But fame has taken its toll on the Love Island star, who has admitted to coping with her anxiety by “drinking and partying” too much.

Speaking to , Paige said: “I went through a stage of drinking and partying in my dark days, and then I realised how bad drink was for my mental health.

"So I stopped that seven months ago, and I’m now completely sober.

"My anxiety is so much better for it and I’m much more driven now that I have cut that out of my life.”

Speaking about her experience of life after Love Island, Paige admitted that she “struggled with who to be,” in terms of Instagram and her life as an Influencer, and she’s since decided to show the “real Paige”.

“It was hard because I’m from Swansea. We don’t have those bougie kinds of places here that look good on Instagram.

“I’m hardly ever dressed up, so to get that kind of content was difficult. For me, it was completely false. That’s not who I am.”

Paige has now gone back to working shifts as a paramedic, the job she had before entering the villa.

However, she still has her sights set on more TV work.

“I’ve always wanted to do acting,” she said. “So I’m finally taking the steps to go down those routes which is really exciting.”

During her time on Love Island, Paige turned the heads of two boys.

She was first coupled up with Jacques O' Neill before become an item with Adam Collard.

The pair went onto date for a few months after the show ended, before splitting up.
