But the whooping and hollering from the stands, particularly one audience member who was likened to a banshee on Twitter, spoiled the viewing experience for those at home.

Another exclaimed: "I sincerely hope we don’t have another screaming woman in the audience tonight."

At times this week the judges have threatened to overshadow the acts on stage.

Viewers claim to have spotted tension between Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon, insisting there's a secret feud going on.

While last night viewers were left seriously distracted by Simon Cowell who was making strange cat noises into the mic while Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were giving their criticism.

The bizarre stunt even forced Ant and Dec to pause while on stage and ask Simon to stop so that they could speak to the contestants.

Tonight's finalists are Cillian O’Connor and Lilliana Clifton, Travis George and Ghetto Kids, Viggo Venn and Olivia Lynes, Malakai Bayoh and Duo Odyssey, Musa Motha and Amy Lou.
