Holby City star lands new role in Hollyoaks a year after BBC show’s shock axing
HOLBY City star David Ames has landed a role in Channel 4's Hollyoaks a year on from the BBC drama's shock axing.
The actor confirmed he would be joining the popular soap during a chat with Sharon Marshall on ITV's This Morning.

David played the role of Dominic Copeland on the popular BBC drama but will now be hot stepping over to Chester to take on a brand new role in Hollyoaks.
The actor announced he will become the school's brand new headmaster as part of his first storyline.
He said: "There was a vacancy at Hollyoaks High School so I thought I'd step in and fill the role!"
Chatting to Sharon on the daytime show, she quizzed the star if he would be played a "goodie or a baddie".

Remaining tight-lipped, the star said back: "My lips are sealed on that one."
He will be taking over from Sally St Claire's character Annie Wallace after she was fired from the position.
It marks David's first major role since appearing in the BBC series which was axed last year amid much upset from fans.
The show had been on the air for 23 years before sensationally coming to an end.
