SPRINGWATCH fans observed in horror this week as a pesky visitor made for violent watching.
During a segment hosted by wildlife presenters Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan on Thursday night (June 1), the pair showcased several close-up specials on bird nests around the local area.
The Springwatch team had placed cameras in prime positions close to local bird wildlife nests so BBC Two viewers at home could see small chicks being fed and newborns emerging.
However, onlookers weren't quite ready for a jay bird to swoop in and steal a chick from one of the nests.
It was triggering for spectators as the jay attacked a nest on Wednesday's episode (May 31) and was back for more carnage.
On Wednesday, one show fan said: "Not emotionally stable enough for the footage of the jay emptying the wren's nest tonight."

With another echoing this: "I’ll be honest, I can’t cope with big bully jays stealing tiny chicks from a nest. That and the sand lizard’s eggs being fed from the dead parent’s body yesterday. Just f*****g gruesome. I know it’s nature/important but it never used to be this horrible!! #Springwatch."
Now just days later, scenes were mirrored as the bird swooped in again.
An angered viewer tweeted after last night's show: "This jay is a b*****d #Springwatch."
"Every single day, this jay wakes up and chooses violence!! #springwatch," another chimed in.

A nature lover added: "We love a nice jay but FFS!!! He's an utter b*****d. I'm hoping for some sweet Goshawk karma. #springwatch"
"I know it's just how nature works, but why keep showing those b******d jays, evil shits #springwatch," a distraught spectator said.
One onlooker had a theory: "@BBCSpringwatch is the jay watching the cameras being installed and then waiting? #Springwatch."
Wildlife expert Michaela spoke about how birds try to build nests and protect them the best they can, but before the video clip was aired, she said: "Protected nest, well, that's what we thought anyway. But I am sorry, I'm sorry, let's just warn you now because this happened just before the show... "
A short snippet was broadcast where the jay found the nest and whipped a chick out of its new home.
She ended: "I am sorry to tell you, the jay found the nest..."
Springwatch continues on BBC Two and iPlayer.
