Ten Pound Poms follows a group of Brits who leave the country in the promise of a better life.

It's set in a dreary 1950s post-war Britain that was still experiencing food shortages.

But for just ten pounds Britons are offered a new identity down under in Australia.

However, the second instalment left viewers stunned and were all left with the same complaint.

A third penned: "OMG why did he punch the dog???? #tenpoundpoms can you even knock out a dog with a punch?"

A fourth added: "Oh no that really upset me… poor dog."

Viewers also slammed the show for being "far too tense" and not reflective of its title - or era.

During episode two viewers saw Terry (Warren Brown) haunted by the car crash the night before where he and Dean ran over a boy and fled the scene.

Michelle Keegan's character Kate also got a lead on her son Michael’s whereabouts.
