EastEnders spoilers LIVE — Colin Salmon makes his BBC soap debut as new family The Knights move into the Queen Vic

EASTENDERS fans were left in shock last night as an all-new family moved into the legendary Queen Vic.

Thursday's episode of the hit soap saw Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford make her EastEnders debut alongside her on-screen family the Knights.

The Strictly star was joined by her on-screen dad George Knight, played by Colin Salmon, and her sister Gina (Francesca Henry).

But not all fans were impressed by the new family's introduction, with some feeling show bosses moved on from the tragic death of Lola Pearce too quickly.

One fan wrote: "George has only been in it five minutes and he's helped reunite Ben and Lexi." While second added: "George walking around like he's the king of Walford."

    Charlie Clements, who played Bradley Branning in EastEnders, has now swapped the world of soaps for the kitchen.

    Following his exit from the BBC soap, which saw him killed off on the show’s 25th anniversary, Charlie is now working as a chef – and he has big plans for the future.

    The 35-year-old is hoping to one day open a pizza restaurant.

    Sharing a photo of a wood fired pizza oven, Charlie wrote: “I’m thinking a @netflixuk documentary that follows me from start to finish of opening a pizza restaurant!!”

    Speaking about his career switch, Bradley previously told the Sun: “It was just a way of me supporting the family. At the end of the day the kids and the family come first. I’ve never been afraid of work and never been work shy.”

    He added: “Acting is always my first love and will always be my career choice but at the end of the day I’ve got bills to pay and a family to support like everyone else.”

    EastEnders’ Danielle Harold has landed her first role ahead of her tragic soap exit.

    The Sun can exclusively reveal that Danielle has signed up to appear on Celebrity Hunted for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer.

    She will be teaming up with former Coronation Street star Kimberley Hart-Simpson.

    A source revealed: “After filming’s Lola’s storyline, Danielle is keen to do whatever she can to help raise money for the fight against cancer.

    “She will throw herself into the show and hopefully stay hidden long enough to beat the Hunters.”

    Fans are disgusted with Nish Panesar after his vile behaviour towards Billy Mitchell.

    Viewers know Billy is struggling after finding out granddaughter Lola Pearce has only days left to live.

    After winding up Billy in the Vic with jibes about Ben being in America and not supporting his own daughter, Nish successfully goaded him into trying to attack him.

    Fans are disgusted at Nish’s behaviour.

    One wrote: "Nish, whatever I called you would be an insult to that, I can't think of anything bad enough!"

    A second said: "P*sses me off how vinny just stands there letting Nish torment our grieving billy."

    Another added: "Billy should have knocked Nish out for that!"

  • Lola Pearce’s death is saddest storyline in 25 years, co-star reveals

    EastEnders star Perry Fenwick says the death of Lola Pearce-Brown is the saddest storyline in his 25 years on the soap.

    The actor, 60, said he went to “a dark place” to prepare for the final scenes with his screen granddaughter Lola, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.

    Her condition has worsened in recent episodes and the story is set to culminate on Wednesday.

    Asked if it was the saddest storyline he had been part of Perry, who plays Billy Mitchell, said: “Without a shadow of a doubt. I’ve been on the show for 25 years this year.

    "We’ve seen a lot of people come and go … it’s just devastating.

    “It’s been hard but it’s kind of, I think, the message that it’s put out for the show.”

    Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans are convinced they’ve worked out who sent Stacey Slater’s webcam request.

    It comes after the Walford resident’s secret sex work was exposed this week.

    Stacey agreed to show her face on Secret Cam as one of her clients vowed to send her money for the risky act.

    However, it all backfired on Stacey when her secret activity became very public, leaving her pregnant daughter Lily Slater humiliated.

    Following the soap scenes, viewers began to speculate who could have sent her the request in the first place.

    Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “I wonder if that old teacher of Freddie’s is Stacey’s Secret Cam admirer.”

    A second said: ”It’s that creepy teacher guy wanting the live stream.

    While a third speculated: ”Could Freddie’s teacher Mr Hawthorne be the one asking Stacey for her private videos on her only fans? He’s moving and it’ll probably be Walford or close to Walford, and he might start using Freddie to get closer to Stacey??”

    Danny Dyer has shared his joy after his daughter Dani gave birth to twins with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.

    The star, 26, who is already mum to her son Santiago, welcomed two daughters into the world on Monday.

    The former EastEnders star finally broke his silence on his happiness about becoming a grandfather for the second and third time.

    Dani shared her first photos of the tots on Instagram, and captioned her post: “22.05.23.”

    Danny commented on his daughter’s post of the two little ones, writing: “Can’t stop smiling,” with two heart emojis.

    Former Strictly star Molly Rainford will make her debut in EastEnders, after joining the cast as Anna Knight, part of the new Knight Family.

    In new pics, Mollie is set to join Colin Salmon, who plays George Knight, and Frencesca Henry, who plays Gina Knight.

    The new family are set to make a dramatic entrance into the square as George is currently in a relationship with Elaine Peacock, played by Harriet Thorpe.

  • Colin Salmon reveals heartbreaking reason he’s joining the cast of EastEnders

    James Bond star Colin Salmon has revealed the heartbreaking reason he is joining the cast of EastEnders.

    The actor who played MI6 chief of staff Charles Robinson in three 007 films, is joining the BBC soap so he can be close to his poorly wife.

    His wife, artist and illustrator Fiona Hawthorne, has a rare lung disease which means she needs an oxygen tank.

    Discussing why he has taken the role, Colin said: ”I can’t be far from home.

    ”It’s a no-brainer. The universe has been really kind.”

    He also said that as an East End boy himself he understood the importance of the show. ”Everybody who I’ve told I’m doing this has got really excited, ”he said.

    The actor, who will play ex-boxer George Knight, a dad of two and pal of Phil Mitchell, is set to arrive to help run the Queen Vic pub on June 1.

  • How long has EastEnders been on TV?

    EastEnders was the BBC‘s response to rival ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

    Both of these soaps already had an established spot in British TV as they aired respectively for the first time in 1960 and 1972.

    Writers worked for two years before the London-based drama would be broadcasted.

    The first ever episode of EastEnders was aired on February 19, 2023, and it immediately set the tone.

    BBC One viewers were introduced to the world of EastEnders with a murder mystery when Arthur Fowler, Ali Osman and Den Watts forced their way into Reg Cox’s flat, finding him near death.

    Things also kicked off with a bang in The Queen Vic, Albert Square’s very own iconic pub, when treacherous thug Nick Cotton began to cause trouble.

    It was later revealed he was responsible for Reg Cox’s death.

    EastEnders attracted some 17 million viewers with its first episode and it has become another staple on the box ever since.

    “Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet historically only 1% of research is allocated to this devastating disease.

    “I would like to take a moment for everybody that has reached out to me and shared their experiences with me, I have read every message and hold all of your messages close to my heart whilst playing this story.

    “I have been blessed to meet the most incredible people and work with some wonderful charities along the way and I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for all your support, advice and love.”

    But in recent weeks, the fan favourite has had struggles of her own, particularly after crashing her car and endangering Denzel Danes.

    Kim faced trial but prior to her court date, Denzel (Jaden Ladega) caught her in a panic attack and implored her to say something to his father, Howie.

    Although she promised she’d take action, Kim kept her torment a secret from those closest to her.

    However, in scenes airing next week on BBC One, she tries to mask her anxiety symptoms with great difficulty just as she and her sister Denise (Diane Parish) visit Lola (Danielle Harold).

    The pair of sisters manage to lift Lola’s spirits, despite her condition and weakness.

    EastEnders’ viewers have been left in tears watching Lola Pearce getting more and more sick.

    The young mum-of-one doesn’t have long until she passes away from terminal cancer.

    We can now confirm that Lola will die during the EastEnders episode on May 31, 2023.

    Her last scenes were filmed in April 2023 and her funeral has also already been shot, so this will likely to follow not long after she passes away.

    EastEnders have announced that the set, which was originally supposed to be completed by 2018, won’t be ready until some point this year, so fans can expect tours to begin soon.
