EASTENDERS fans were left in shock last night as an all-new family moved into the legendary Queen Vic.

Thursday's episode of the hit soap saw Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford make her EastEnders debut alongside her on-screen family the Knights.

The Strictly star was joined by her on-screen dad George Knight, played by Colin Salmon, and her sister Gina (Francesca Henry).

But not all fans were impressed by the new family's introduction, with some feeling show bosses moved on from the tragic death of Lola Pearce too quickly.

One fan wrote: "George has only been in it five minutes and he's helped reunite Ben and Lexi." While second added: "George walking around like he's the king of Walford."

  • Fan spots eerie coincidence in Lola's final scenes

A fan has spotted an eerie coincidence in Wednesday's tragic episode of EastEnders.

Viewers watched with tears running down their face as Lola Pearce, played by Danielle Harold, died peacefully surrounded by Jay and Lexi.

She drew her final breath just as the sun started to rise in and now one fan has pointed out how Lola might have died at the exact same time she was born.

They drew upon information from earlier this year when Lola's mum, played by Patsy Kensit, revealed the exact moment that Lola was born.

Writing on Twitter, the fan said: "Lola’s mum said that Lola was born at 4:23am.

"Jay removed the clock batteries at 3:45am.

"Some time passed with talking/lav break.

"Sunrise in London atm is about that time.

"What’s the betting she actually died at her birth time, just like Abi did?"

  • Former EastEnders star announces she is expecting

Former EastEnders actress Shana Swash has revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.

The actress – who played Demi Miller on the BBC One soap from 2004 to 2006 – announced the happy news on social media on Friday.

Shana beamed as she announced that she was expecting her first baby in six months.

    She wrote: “PENDING….BABY JONES 5TH DECEMBER 2023.”

Shana is the sister to EastEnders and I’m A Celebrity legend Joe Swash.

  • Walford set to be rocked by shock proposal

George Knight arrived in Albert Square with his two daughters, Anna and Gina, in tow.

The EastEnders newcomer starts completely afresh next week and decides to take his relationship to the next level.

The BBC One soap introduced George as Elaine Peacock’s new life partner as he settles into The Queen Vic with his two adult daughters, Anna and Gina, in tow.

Elaine (portrayed by Harriet Thorpe) is all loved-up as George (Colin Salmon) makes himself at home in Albert Square.

But Elaine’s daughter Linda (Kellie Bright) struggles with the Knight family invasion.

  • Viewers are heartbroken following Lola Pearce’s passing

Fans have flocked to Twitter to comment on Lola’s tragic final episode.

One wrote: “I was just about to hold it together until that little fox appeared.”

  • Can you visit the EastEnders set?

Due to the soap’s filming schedule – which was four 30-minute episodes prior to coronavirus – there have previously been no tours of the EastEnders sets or of the studio.

And given that the current home of EastEnders in Elstree isn’t accessible to the general public, it seems unlikely that the new set will be.

EastEnders have announced that the set, which was originally supposed to be completed by 2018, won’t be ready until some point this year, so fans can expect tours to begin soon.

  • Is EastEnders on tonight?

It's been a busy week in Walford, from Lola Pearce's tragic death to the arrival of a new family.

But while fans are eager for more Albert Square action, there is no episode of EastEnders tonight.

The iconic soap airs on Mondays to Thursdays, before taking a break over the weekend.

  • Who is Gina Knight?

Gina is the other daughter of George and already looks like she is set to stir up trouble on the Square.

Her arrival into Walford was not met with the warmest reaction after she instantly got on the wrong side of some EastEnders icons.

She clashed with Kathy Beale in a bitter war of words at the cafe and later managed to offend Linda Carter after turning the upstairs living area of The Vic upside down.

Gina is played by stunning actress Francesca Henry, who is a relative newcomer to the TV scene.

It is Francesca's biggest role to date but with the likes of Molly and Colin by her side, she is surrounded by the best.

She had previously enjoyed guest roles in shows such as Doctors and Silent Witness.
