Homes Under the Hammer’s Martin Roberts fears he could ‘drop dead’ at any minute after health scare
MARTIN Roberts has revealed he fears he could ‘drop dead’ at any minute after a recent health scare.
The Homes Under the Hammer presenter, 59, has spoken about his “irrational fear”.
It comes following his shocking near-death experience last year that left him with “hours to live” due to heart problems.
Thankfully Martin had the life-saving op after developing heart pain when his pericardium – the fluid-filled sack that protects the organ – expanded.
But the ordeal has left him scarred with the beloved presenter fearing he could die any minute.
In an honest interview with The Mirror, he admitted: “I have struggled quite badly since I nearly died last April.
“It was scary. I’m not young, but I’m not old, and to suddenly have your life come within a couple of minutes of ending, you do play the “what ifs?”.
“The health recovery I think is probably a lot quicker than the mental recovery.
“The mental recovery is that fear that that happened, will it happen again? Suddenly, it’s a Monday morning, am I going to die?”
Martin is currently appearing on a brand new E4 show called The Big Celeb Detox.
Over eight episodes, spiritual guide and mystic Sah D’Simone takes eight celebrities through a series of toe-curling therapies designed to make them feel spiritually cleansed and as though they’ve been ‘reborn’.
Joining Martin on the 16-day retreat are former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, Love Island stars Megan Barton Hanson and Toby Aromolaran.
Completing the lineup are Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts, Too Hot To Handle contestant Chloe Veitch, kickboxing champion Michael ‘Venom’ Page and royal reality TV star Princess Olga Romanoff.
