"But Laura is hiding something too… and these two women are bound by a shared secret, one they have both tried to keep buried. But nothing stays a secret forever."

Speaking about signing up for the new thriller, Joyner said: "There is such a contradiction with the character of Laura, so focused and organised in her work life and yet chaotic and insecure with her home life. I feel it really resonates."

Jo's new show comes days after The Sun revealed her previous drama Riptide would not be returning for a second series.

The show, which was set in Australia and co-produced with Network 10, had received pleas from fans for another instalment.

The Sun understands it was originally intended to be a four-part series, although there was scope for more episodes.

A source said: "Bosses were delighted with the reaction from fans to Riptide but it's not something they plan on revisiting."
