The pair appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning to announce the news and spoke to Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty.

Naga asked them: "How does it feel to be Gladiators?"

Harry replied: "I mean wow. It's absolutely... I'm so buzzing. It's one of those things that growing up... my inner child is literally just thinking 'Is this real?!'

"Because when you look at those nostalgic views just there, you think gosh I played those games in the estate where I grew up and I've got the opportunity to actually bring it to life!"

The two will appear in the new show and show everyone what they're made of in the weeks to come.

Harry has a background in sport, having won various sprinting medals.

He won gold at the European Championships in 2022, 2018 and 2014, as well as at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and 2018.

The champion sprinter can complete 60m in just 6.55 seconds.

Writing on Instagram, he admitted: "This is like a dream come true, the kind that makes you pinch yourself just to make sure it's real.

"Years of blood, sweat, and tears have led me to this moment, and let me tell you, I've been sculpted into an absolute powerhouse by watching those gladiators on TV as a child.

"But guess what? Now it's my turn to step foot in that electrifying arena and take on all contenders!

"Are they ready for the hurricane of intensity that's about to hit them?"

Meanwhile, Livi is a 6ft bodybuilder who works as a personal trainer.

She graduated with a sports science degree before getting into bodybuilding - and boasts 7k followers on Instagram.

She said on the social media platform: "A dream come true! Becoming a gladiator! @diamondthegladiator @bbcgladiator.

"If there was an opportunity I could wish for this would be it! This truly is the biggest thing that has ever happened to me and I can’t wait to get in the arena! I’ve been training for duel since I was 9 years old!
