The date has now been formally confirmed after the show's stars Steve Martin and previously let slipped the date on a recent comedy tour.

Disney confirmed the Emmy-nominated programme would be returning at its recent upfront presentation.

Alongside Steve and Martin is Disney star Selena Gomez who make up the lead trio of the popular show.

However, they are about to be joined by an even bigger name as the streamer has signed up Hollywood A-lister Meryl Streep to join the show's cast.

Meryl is not the only new name to be joining the comedy either.

Paul Rudd, who appeared briefly in the second season finale, Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams and Emily in Paris' Ashley Park are also joining the wider ensemble.

Ahead of the third season, the show's co-creator Justin Hoffman teased what fans could expect to see next from Selena's character, Mabel Mora.

He admitted that viewers would see a slightly different side to her character.

Justin revealed: "There’s brightness… a different colour [in her life moving forward].

"She has, over the last two seasons, been able to sort of take that shawl of heaviness off of her a bit….

"There are certain new pressures ahead of her, and questions that she is asking herself about her own life, but she’s got a much more optimistic viewpoint."
