They also got an insight into the officers’ personal lives and opinions.

The show reached number three on the most-watched Netflix chart in the UK.

However, viewers took to social media to say they think the scene was scripted.

Taking to Twitter, one said: “This show feels scripted.”

Another wrote: “Just finished episode one of Missing: Dead or Alive on #Netflix and I must be the only one, but I think it’s not good.

"I think it makes the police look bad. They’ve clearly already made up their mind about this man with no actual investigation.

"Feels scripted and overly dramatic.”

A third penned: “The first scene of Missing: Dead or Alive on Netflix weirdly felt scripted.

"Do they do that for shows involving real crime? It’s not a re-enactment either. It just was weird lol."

Missing: Dead or Alive is available to stream on Netflix.
