A BBC star has welcomed a baby with their partner of 15 years - gushing 'our hearts are bursting with joy'.

Morning Live's Dr James Greenwood took to Instagram on Friday to share the wonderful news that he and his partner Mark have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.

James shared a picture of Rachael - who carried their son - cradling the newborn as he and Mark posed happily either side.

He captioned the happy snap: "Here we go!!! We are all so thrilled and our hearts are bursting with joy.

"Introducing Oliver James Titterton-Greenwood, born 9.54 pm last night, 7.8 pounds.

"Baby and Dads all doing great, more importantly so is our incredible surrogate Rachael - the most incredible human being on this planet who has blown us all away with her phenomenal generosity and incredible strength.

"Our hearts are overflowing with joy. J&M Xxx."

The couple were immediately congratulated by followers, with one writing: "Congratulations guys! Welcome to the beautiful chaos of parenthood x".

Another added: "Just WOW congratulations to the whole family."

A third commented: "Congratulations guys Love the name! Hope everyone is well!! You will be the best dads!! Xxxx."

Meanwhile Stacey Dooley wrote: "Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes" alongside a yellow heart emoji.

James had confirmed the news that they were expecting a baby in an Instagram post while on holiday in the French Alps in March.

The picture featured the couple in their skiing gear while holding the baby scan and he revealed it would be their "last holiday just us two" before becoming parents.
