Top Gear star Freddie Flintoff in the money as assets rise by £500k in a year despite horror crash

TOP Gear star Freddie Flintoff’s latest accounts show he is in the money - despite his horror crash.

The presenter was badly injured in December when a 130mph, open-top, three-wheeled Morgan Super 3 flipped during filming and the BBC has pulled all of Freddie’s shows from its production schedule for the foreseeable future.

But despite being laid up Freddie’s net assets shot up from £6.5m to more than £7m, according to filings for the last financial year.

The Companies House documents were signed off by his wife Rachael, 45, who is also a director of Freddie Flintoff Enterprises Ltd.

The company’s full accounts were filed in March and detail the year to June 2022.

It had £7,040,043 in net assets, compared to £6,514,703 the year before, while £450,677 in dividends was taken, slightly more than the £392,737 taken the year before.

Ex-cricket star Flintoff, real name Andrew, became a presenter of the BBC show Top Gear in 2019.

The Ashes hero suffered serious facial injuries and broken ribs in the horror crash last year and was airlifted to hospital following the smash at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome, home of the Top Gear test track.

BBC cancelled filming in light of the accident.

And The Sun told last week that he will be off air until 2024.
