Jon Kay lands new role away from BBC Breakfast as he asks fans for their help
BBC Breakfast star Jon Kay delighted fans this week when he excitedly announced his brand new role away from the big red sofa.
The 53 year old confirmed that he would be switching his presenting role on the BBC's morning offering for a brand new gig.
Writing on Twitter, he informed his followers that he would be taking over the reigns of BBC Radio 4's Pick of the Week show.
It left Jon begging for help from his fans about what to include in his edition of the show.
Jon said: "Lend me your ears… I need a favour, please… I’m presenting #PickOfTheWeek on @BBCRadio4 next weekend and I’d love your recommendations.
"Pls let me know the best BBC audio content you hear in the next few days.

The show, which is also available on BBC Sounds, rounds up the best moments of the week from across all BBC branded radio stations.
Each week, a different face takes to the show to lead hosting duties and show off their best finds to listeners of the programme.
Jon is usually seen Mondays through Wednesdays on BBC Breakfast alongside his co-star Sally Nugent.

This morning, Jon was instead seen on-screen with pregnant stand-in Nina Warhurst, who fronted the show in place of Sally for the Bank Holiday.
Last week, Jon stunned fans as he admitted to wearing his wife's clothing.
The 53-year-old journalist looked as smart as ever on last Tuesdays show in a grey suit, white shirt and pale pink tie.
But once he had finished presenting the show alongside Sally Nugent, Jon took to Twitter to share a discovery he had just made.
Taking a picture of his ankle and calf, Jon revealed a black sock with a glittery trim.
He added: "Errr…. I appear to be wearing my wife’s glittery socks" alongside a face palm emoji.
