Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli all looked puzzled as they were greeted by an animated character who wanted to audition.

The ITV show has seen a huge variety of wild and wonderful acts during its 16-season run, but this was a new one, even for them.

Noodle the cat was seemingly voiced live by a person from behind the scenes, who kicked off their audition by pretending to have a fur ball.

The judges all looked on utterly confused, before the backing track to classic tune Feeling Good started.

The CGI feline then began singing, as an incredible voice boomed out of the sound system.

The audience and the judging panel alike were left gobsmacked by the incredible vocal performance, leading to four yeses and a standing ovation.

Whilst the viewers at home also loved the performance, many were left questioning the performance.

One Twitter user wrote: "I'm confused. That cat is animated right?

"So what they looking at on stage?"

This began a discussion on the platform, as another viewer quote retweeted saying: "Exactly!!!"

A few fans of the show threw their theories into the comments, saying: "I think it’s a hologram look at the little projector behind it."

Another wrote: "It’s either a hologram or it’s actually just on the screen, but they’ve edited it out to look like it’s on stage for viewers at home."

Britain's Got Talent continues weekends on ITV 1 at 8pm.
