I’m A Celebrity star Amir Khan stuns campmates as he makes shocking admission about his £1m New York wedding to Faryal
EX-BOXER Amir Khan tomorrow night tells his all-star I’m A Celeb campmates he spent £1million on his wedding and a party for 4,000 and didn’t enjoy it.
The 35-year-old reveals he spared no expense for his celebrations with Faryal Makhdoom, 30, with a luxury ceremony at New York’s five-star Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
He says there were “only” 300 guests there — mostly made up of the great and the good of the Big Apple’s Asian community.
But the newlyweds then threw a mammoth bash in his home town of Bolton to which legions of relatives and a long line of celeb sport pals and others came.
The guest list included England football legends Wayne Rooney, 37, and Rio Ferdinand, 44, as well as fellow boxers Ricky Hatton, 44, and 42-year-old David Haye.
Amir, who married American Faryal in 2013, amazes his fellow celebs on I’m a Celebrity . . . South Africa with details of the events — the first of which saw him having to perform a Bollywood dance routine with his ushers.

Images of the day, in which he sat on a throne framed by giant golden pillars, were sold to Hello! magazine for an undisclosed sum.
Amir, who retired from boxing last year after a defeat to Kell Brook, says: “Family, friends — everyone likes to be there.
“If you call one family member, they want to bring their auntie, uncle, cousin, sister.
“The ice-cream van man got an invitation as well!”

Amir, who has two children with Faryal, adds: “I was not in charge of the invitations.
“I didn’t get to enjoy it, to be honest with you.
“There were that many people there.
“It was a like a massive gala, like a big event.
“That’s why now, if I was ever to do it again, it would be me and the wife, and keep it really simple.”
But after hearing of the wedding costs, Amir’s I’m A Celebrity co-stars are astonished.
Campmate and former discus great Fatima Whitbread, 62, says: “What a waste of money.”
Amir previously admitted that Faryal did most of the organising for the wedding.
At the time, he tweeted: “The only thing I’ve done is try my clothes on.”
Back in the camp, Janice Dickinson, 68, and Jordan Banjo, 30, had to endure a grisly, eating Bushtucker Trial to try to win food for the group.
