Alison Hammond lands huge new TV job after her quiz show is scrapped
ALISON Hammond has landed a huge telly job on a brand new quiz show.
The 48-year-old will be a team captain for On Demand alongside Josh Widdicombe, while Rob Beckett takes the helm.
The trio appeared in a successful pilot and the show, which is based on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, has now been commissioned for a full series.
Alison and Josh will go head to head to prove who knows the most about telly.
Speaking about the new gig, Alison said: “This will be my first time working with Sky so I’m thrilled to be finally joining the family.
“We all know that I love a bit of telly – when I’m not actually on it, I’m watching it – so I’m going to apply everything I know and have learned over the years and go for the win. Watch out Josh babs!”

The exciting job comes after a reboot of Friends Like These, hosted by Alison and Vernon Kay, has been shelved following a pilot last month.
The BBC, who aired the original — hosted by Ant and Dec, and later, Ian Wright — has decided not to pursue a full series.
A TV insider said: “Bringing back Friends Like These seemed a no-brainer but bosses felt it wasn’t the right time, as the light entertainment schedule is just so packed.
“It’s no reflection on either Alison or Vernon, who did a sterling job as hosts. There’s hope it could be reignited further down the line.”

Alison was recently announced as new host of The Great British Bake Off, taking over from Matt Lucas who is quitting the Channel 4 series in December after three years alongside Noel Fielding.
As well as her Friday slot fronting This Morning with Dermot O’Leary, she co-hosted this year’s Baftas with Richard E Grant.
