It has been confirmed that both shows will be broadcast from Liverpool as part of the city's hosting of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

This means that the big red sofa of the BBC Breakfast studio will be heading further to the West from its usual home in MediaCity in Salford whilst the Beeb's evening magazine show will have to complete an even bigger move from its usual residence in the capital.

On May 13th, the city will play host to the annual event in place of Ukraine as a result of the ongoing crisis in the country.

It has yet to be confirmed which hosts of each show will be heading up to the city to front the special shows.

Regulars on BBC Breakfast include Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty and Jon Kay.

Whilst over on The One Show, Welsh presenter Alex Jones can usually be found leading proceedings alongside her co-stars Ronan Keating and Jermaine Jenas.

The plans were unveiled at a Eurovision launch event in Liverpool yesterday.

The main event will take place at the city's M&S Bank Arena, located close to the infamous Albert Dock.

Resident commentator Graham Norton will continue in his legacy role alongside fellow star Mel Giedroyc.

As well as this, Graham will be seen on-stage alongside Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina who will lead hosting duties.

The UK will be represented by popstar Mae Muller with her single I Wrote A Song.
