BBC BREAKFAST viewers were left seriously distracted by this morning's 'orange' presenter as they ripped into his 'fake tan fail'.

The flagship Beeb programme, which was presented by Charlie Stayt and Nina Warhurst this morning.

Nina, 42, stood in for Naga Munchetty who was missing from the red sofa.

While they brought viewers the latest headlines from across the UK, Mike Bushell had the sports news.

However, fans were left seriously distracted by 57-year-old's appearance when he joined Charlie and Nina.

Mike looked very sun-kissed - and viewers were convinced the journalist had applied fake tan before coming on air.

Taking to social media, fans ripped into the presenter, branding him 'orange' and labelled it a 'fake tan fail'.

One said: "Why is Mike the sports guy triple dipped in self tan today? He looks ridiculous."

While a fourth simply said: "Nice tan Mike."

But it seems Mike's bronzed appearance is completely natural, as he took to Twitter to reveal he had been away.

He told fans: "They’ve let me back @bbcbreakfast sofa (after little trip away) @ninawarhurst_ looks happy @hanrmillertv but not so Charlie (not impressed by my tan )luckily plenty of sport to talk about."
