Our Yorkshire Farm star QUITS Channel 5 show in shock move

CLIVE Owen has confirmed he is stepping back from reality TV and has QUIT his show Beyond the Yorkshire Farm, following his marriage breakdown.

The 68-year-old farmer has confirmed he is walking away from the Channel 5 spin-off series to Our Yorkshire Farm, after it was launched to keep Clive on screens following his separation from wife Amanda.

Clive has appeared in two seasons of Beyond the Yorkshire Farm alongside son Reuben Owen and his son's girlfriend, Sarah Dow, but he has now revealed that only Reuben will be carrying on with the programme.

The dad-of-11 made the admission during a rare live television interview with Christine Lampard on ITV's Lorraine.

Admitting he was grateful that Channel 5 offered him a spin-off series following the axing of the family's reality show, Clive told Christine how Reuben would be branching out on his own as he no longer "needs his hand holding".

Clive said:  "I mean, we've done this thing with Reuben, it has been great fun working with him.

"I have had a grand time doing it. I think I am stepping back from that now.

"I think he is going to go on, on his own because he doesn't want me holding his hand."

However he did not rule out a return to the show in the future - but confirmed he had no immediate plans.

He added: "I have no plans to do anything particularly but you never know, someone might be daft enough to ask me."

The Owen family have been embroiled in controversy recently as it emerged that life on Ravenseat had not been as plain sailing as fans were led to believe.

The Sun were the first to exclusively reveal that Clive and Amanda's seemingly solid marriage was actually hanging by a thread in 2021.

Sources told us that Amanda was spending most nights away from the family home and that Clive feared the marriage was pretty much over.

The duo later confirmed their secret split on Instagram the following year but it wasn't until last month that The Sun revealed exactly why.

We revealed that Amanda had moved on from Clive with 71-year-old businessman Robert Davies - with Robert's former wife alleging that the pair had been having an affair since 2018, the same year Our Yorkshire Farm arrived on screens.

The affair was discovered only a year ago when a love letter Amanda wrote to him was found in the boot of his car by his shocked wife.

His devastated wife, Yasumi, an investment banker from Tokyo, recognised the handwriting from a signed copy of Amanda’s new book.

She later found some of Amanda’s jewellery hidden in a box in their bedroom. It included a necklace she had worn on TV and which read: “Together forever.”

But today, Clive claimed to Christine that he had "behaved badly" during the course of the marriage.

He said: "I handled it very badly.

"I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending, a massive part."

He added: "When all this was going on, I was ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on.

"I was driving her away."
