Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley reveals husband Tom’s cancer scare as she urges fans to ‘get checked’
CATHERINE Tyldesley has urged fans to 'get checked' after she revealed her husband Tom's recent cancer scare.
The former Coronation Street star, 39, took to her Instagram account to share the news with fans.
Sharing a picture of a male breast, Catherine wrote: "Naturally, when you find a lump anywhere, as much as you try not to- you worry.
"After a scan and an ultra sound GP still wasn’t sure what we were dealing with. So Tom needed a biopsy."
The actress said the wait "was painful as always" before adding that Tom wasn't even aware men could get breast cancer.

Thankfully for the couple the results came back clear for cancer, but showed that Tom has Gynaecomastia, which is a condition that causes men's breasts to swell.
Catherine said the experience has motivated her to raise awareness of male breast cancer.
"Yes it’s rare but it’s absolutely worth checking your pecks Fellas!!
"Symptoms are Same as for women. Most commonly a lump . Could be distortion, bloody nipple discharge."
According to Cancer Research UK, around 350 men across the country are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
Tom and Catherine began dating in 2014 and got engaged that same year.
The couple became acquainted at the gym where Tom was working as an instructor and the rest is history.
They married on May 21, 2016.
