Billy Murray is supported by celebrities after The Bill star revealed his grandchildren were nearly ‘kidnapped’
THE Bill actor Billy Murray has received support from fellow celebs after he revealed that his grandkids were nearly "kidnapped".
The Only Way is Essex stars Megan McKenna and Sam Faiers were among the stars who took to social media to highlight the scary close call.
They each shared a clip of Billy describing the ordeal to their stories in a show of support for the shaken grandfather.
In the video, originally posted to , Billy said that his daughter, her partner and the two children were approached by a group while out walking in Orset, .
The 81-year-old said that their path was blocked by a black , which the gang of allegedly Eastern European men got out of to chat to the family.
He said that, while they were speaking, one of the group attempted to approach the children and "kidnap" them.

Billy explained: "They were going to kidnap my grandchildren, that's what they assumed anyway.
"Mick [his daughter's partner] yelled and screamed at them to run. As he ran over from the other side of the road they all jumped in the car and squealed off and tyres were burning everything.
"They're still out there."
The shocking video has been shared across , including by other well-known stars.

was among the big names to rally around Billy, describing the ordeal as "every parent's worst nightmare."
She said: "Watched this before I went to bed last night and have barely slept, so scary!
"Thank goodness the children are ok. Keep your babies close everyone."
Meanwhile, another Towie star, Ferne McCann, added: "Scary! Orset up the road from me.
"What is wrong with people? We must protect our children."
Billy is best known for his role in The Bill as Don Beech from 1995 to 2004.
Essex Police confirmed that the incident was reported at around 12.35pm on April 9, but that no physical contact was alleged.
The three men involved were described as being in their mid-20s or 30s with short, dark hair.
They said: "Based on the information provided, no offences have been identified but the call has been noted for intelligence purposes.

"We know the public will be concerned by a video circulating online relating to this incident and high visibility patrols are taking place in the area.
"We are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any concerns or suspicious activity to us."
