Graphic designer Lani, 33, irked viewers of the reality programme, presented by Paddy McGuinness as she took home a surprising amount of money.

Despite her frivolous spending, she did not regret her actions as she exclaimed: "I regret not taking more temptations, I just think I should have had more."

In the end Dee who spent the most amount of cash and walked away with the least amount of money at £19,608.

Lani was awarded whilst James spent the least and was given the highest share of £22,608.

Fans were shocked to have seen only £3000 in difference between the lowest and highest prize pots, despite stark differences throughout the show.

One viewer fumed: "The ones who abstained from the temptations made as much as the spenders in their money pot! Where's the fairness in that!"

A second exclaimed: "The fact that the least prize money won by anyone was £19,600 makes a mockery of the whole premise of the show."

Meanwhile, a third fan noted: "Only £3k difference between the best & worst spenders, due to most of the selfish spending coming out of the group prize pot."

As a fourth penned: "So there wasn’t much difference in the end then? Surprised Lani still got so much."

And a fifth commented: "James only got a couple of grand more than Lani in the end. She had a spa, drinks, silent disco, nice dinner and he got….a teabag."

Throughout the series, viewers were left in agreement after one group of contestants blew almost £4,000 on a silent disco and coffee.

Lani succumbed to temptation in the very first episode as she risked it all for a milkshake that cost the team £500.

Viewers were later left in shock while Lani blew some of the groups cash pot on a hot chocolate in the second episode.

She said: "I feel a bit guilty but it was a well deserved treat for all that walking I did. I can just pretend that I didn't do it."

Later, fans of the Channel 4 reality show were left fuming after watching her group splash £3,700 of the prize pot on the two 'temptations'.

Lani, 33, and retired nurse Carolynne, 65, first claimed they couldn't resist a coffee and a pastry, at a cost of £200.

The same pair then encouraged the four others in their group to spend a further £3,500 on a silent disco in the South African forest they are trekking through.
