GOOD Morning Britain hosts Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh were taken by surprise on air today.
The presenters were left gasping when the lights went out during filming on the show - with the studio plunged into darkness.
The GMB pair didn't seem to know what was going on - with them both gasping: "Oh!"
The move perhaps shouldn't have been entirely unexpected as they had been discussing new TV show Scared of The Dark.
Richard, 66, was explaining football legend Paul Gascoigne's appearance on the Danny Dyer-fronted programme.
He explained: "He's taken on a very big personal challenge for a new television show - it's his childhood fear of the dark.
"He and other contestants had to sit in pitch blackness for days on end - and nights. Not a chink of light. That would drive me mad."
Ranvir, 45, replied: "I'd quite like it. There's a restaurant you can go to and dine in the dark.
"It was one of the best meals I've ever been to because it was so fun. Maybe not for 24 hours but I did really enjoy it.
"Now let's get the news, travel and weather where you are."
But then the lights went off in the studio with the pair both audibly shocked, before both realising what was going on and laughing.
Despite it being a bank holiday, all of ITV's usual daytime line-up is still on - with Good Morning Britain followed by Lorraine.
This Morning will be on as usual at 10am with Loose Women following at 12.30pm.
