Coronation Street star unrecognisable – saying she’s ‘sick of playing sexy b*****s’

CORONATION Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson looked completely unrecognisable after a makeover with messy hair and specs.

The soap siren told fans that she was "sick of playing sexy b*****s".

Kimberley, 36, looked worlds away from her cobbles character as she admitted she enjoyed covering up on the set of her new project.

The Nicky Wheatley actress scraped her hair back with pink bands, and wore a baggy top that said 'Just a girl who loves horses'.

The actress, who played an escort in Corrie, flashed two thumbs up.

She kept the project's title under wraps, but told fans she had a "top day filming."

Her cobbles character Nicky hasn't been seen on the show since moving out of Daniel Osbourne's flat.

She first appeared in Coronation Street between June and September 2020 as escort Nicky - a love interest for Daniel (played by Rob Mallard).

She then returned to the role in March 2022.

She told The Sun her portrayal of an escort in Coronation Street was so convincing that strangers would ask her what she charges for sex.

But she was thrilled to have sex workers contacting her to thank her for making the ­character so realistic. 

Kimberly said: “People have definitely mixed up my character with me. Men think it’s really funny to approach me and say, ‘How much?’

“I am on dating apps and it comes up on there, too. I just unmatch them straight away.

“But I am thrilled that charities and sex workers have contacted me to say they like the way Nicky is portrayed because she is so realistic and the writers haven’t given her a drug or drink problem."

Kimberly opened up about her future on Corrie in an Instagram Q&A last year, saying her storyline had "now been completed".

A follower asked: "Why you leaving Corrie?"

She explained: "Okkkk let’s get this answered because it’s heavy in the inbox.

"So it’s not a case of leaving Corrie. It’s more that I came back for a storyline which for now has been completed.

"If you watched Friday’s eps you will see there was no big leaving scene so you never know for the future but what I do know is this…

"I owe so much to Corrie and I absolutely love it there - the people - the vibe - the street.

"Life happens in chapters - and I am looking forward to the next part."

An ITV spokesperson has confirmed that the actress has finished with the soap, but "that's not to say we might not see her pop up in Weatherfield again in the future".

In May 2022, Kimberly said that she will be "forever grateful" to the Coronation Street bosses for bringing Nicky back after her short stint in 2020.
