Stacey Slater was told her young daughter was pregnant in the wake of an explosive New Year's Eve party and had to break the news to her in shocking scenes.

After a lot of thinking, Lily (portrayed by Lillia Turner) decided she'd be keeping her baby and Ricky Branning (Frankie Day) was revealed to be the father.

Coming up next week on BBC One, Lily is nervous ahead of her twenty week scan but her mother Stacey (Lacey Turner) vows she'll be by her side.

Meanwhile, reality is slowly catching up with young Ricky as he hears his mother Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) chatting about the responsibilities of being a parent with Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton).

Ricky is freaked out and it only gets worse when Sam makes a flippant comment about how kids ruin your social life.

The lad bolts and when Stacey later finds him, he tells her that he can't be a father.

But as she tries to counsel Ricky about his fears, Stacey breaks a huge promise as Lily arrives at the hospital alone.

In later scenes, the young mother-to-be announces she wants to do a gender reveal party - just as Stacey is trying to keep her finances afloat and fields calls from loan shark Shiv.

Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) bakes the gender reveal cake with Lily, unaware that Stacey is panicking about getting Shiv's money.

The bap van owner heads off to see Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to get help from them.

Knowing her relationship with her son is held by a fragile thread, Sam is relieved when Stacey supports her and despite Ricky's irritation, she shows up to the party.

The Slaters and Brannings gather round to find out if Lily is having a boy or a girl.

What will it be?

While that remains to be seen, Sam gets massive news from a former flame in other scenes of the London-based drama.

She tries to talk to her older brother Phil about her new business opportunity which could push her to move abroad.
