Jodie Comer gives major Killing Eve update raising fans’ hopes of another series
JODIE Comer has a rather sinister update on her Killing Eve character, saying murderous Villanelle could still be alive.
The Russian assassin was killed off in the final episode of the hit series last year, after she fell into the River Thames after being shot.
But Jodie says Villanelle, who shared a kiss with Eva Polastri (Sandra Ho) shortly before she was targeted, may not have met her end, which will provide hope to fans who would love to see another series.
Jodie says: “I don’t like thinking of her floating around the river Thames. So I think she crawled out.
“Maybe she’s been reborn and she’s having to feel her past life karma.”
The spy thriller, which ran over five series, was a huge international hit and helped make Jodie and Sandra household names in the process.

Debuting in 2018, the show ended a year ago having racked up a long line of awards for its stars and creative team, which includes writer Phoebe Waller Bridge.
The finale saw the Eve and Villanelle defeat the bad guys and enjoy a passionate embrace on a ship, but then Jodie's character was shot and fell into the water leaving Eve screaming and the words THE END filling the screen.
But not everyone was happy with that conclusion, including purists who pointed out that in the original Killing Eve work by Luke Jennings they lived happily ever after together.
Speaking to the Happy, Sad, Confused, Jodie, fresh from her Olivier award win this week, admitted she understands why some fans felt the ending was an anti-climax.

She added: “I did anticipate a mixed reaction because we have such an incredible fanbase and you’ve all lived with this show for such a long period of time that it almost feels impossible, you know, like it was tricky, you know, to dictate what what would feel right or what people would believe was right for the characters.”
