Now in its 15th series, the very first episode aired all the way back in 2009.

It sees contestants answer a series of general knowledge questions in the hope of going home with a wad of cash - all the while trying to fend off a professional quiz master.

They are Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Shaun Wallace, Darragh Ennis and Paul Sinha.

Fans of the show may think they've heard the same question being asked before by Bradley - and that's because it probably has.

Fraser Cameron, who sets the questions for the competition, has revealed how it all works.

Speaking to , he said: "Everything you can possibly imagine has already been asked on The Chase at some point.

"There are more than half a million questions on our mammoth database.

Fraser, who has also worked on Tipping Point, said you "have to be so switched on" to work in the role - including listening to people's conversations.

He revealed there's a team of seven people - including four-time world quiz champion Olav Bjortomt and they all aim to write 30 questions each a day - totally a staggering 210 questions.

As for Bradley often hilarious reactions to some intriguing questions, that's all natural.

"He reads the multiple-choice questions for the first time on air, so his reaction is genuine shock," Fraser said.
