"Since we started accepting bets, the Chase host has demonstrated that he possesses the enthusiasm necessary to serve as the show's face," Coral's John Hill said.

As well as the The Chase, star a few other names have been betted on to host the new series.

Ulrika Johnson was listed second best in the betting, followed by Rylan Clarke, Laura Whitmore, and Emma Willis.

The BBC announced earlier this year that the series would return for an 11-episode run in 2023.

Ulrika Jonsson and John Fashanu hosted the original show, which ran from 1992 to 2000.

The series had previously been revived by Sky in 2008, with Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher serving as its hosts, but it had ended by 2009.

The new series is reportedly being filmed at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield this year.

Bradley Walsh was back on hand as always to put four hopefuls to the test and see if they have what it takes to beat one of the infamous Chasers, recently.

Facing off against the quiz hopefuls on the ITV teatime show was Shaun Wallace, aka The Dark Destroyer.

During the episode, there was one contestant that appeared to take Twitter by storm as fans flocked to comment on her good looks.

Natasha, a 23 year old graduate from Nottingham showed that she had brains as well as beauty as she managed to become the third contender of the episode to bring back £5,000 to the table.
