A NETFLIX show creator has begged fans to keep fighting for his beloved series after its axe.

Fans of Warrior Nun were left devastated when the streaming giant announced it had cancelled the hit show.

The beloved series is based on a comic of the same name by Ben Dunn and follows orphan Ava, played by Alba Baptista.

In a bid to save it from the graveyard, fans previously rented out a huge billboard demanding its revival.

The sign simply read "#Save Warrior Nun" - and its prominent location meant Netflix bosses got the message.

And now the show's creator has asked for fans to keep fighting to save the series.

Taking to Twitter, Simon Barry said: "Here’s what I know. When #WarriorNun is saved and/or ‘risen’, it’s going to be because of you, the FANDOM family.

"That much is perfectly clear and that’s why you, Must. Not. Stop. #SaveWarriorNun."

Simon has acted in a number of roles for the show, such as being its executive producer and writing episodes.

Warrior Nun's cancellation is just one of a number of shows that recently.

Speaking about its demise from Netflix, Simon said: "I thought we’d be ok though because it’s not a very expensive show to make and we have such a dedicated fanbase."
