BBC in new schedule shake-up as beloved series promoted to primetime slot

THE BBC is set to undergo yet another schedule shake-up as a beloved series has been promoted to a primetime slot.

Comedian and presenter Chris Ramsey's Beeb programme with his wife Rosie is returning for a second series.

And The Sun can exclusively reveal the show has been promoted from BBC Two to a top slot on BBC One.

The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show sees the much-loved pair interview celebrity couples to talk about their relationship, their pet-peeves and everything in between.

A TV insider said: "Chris and Rosie's first series proved to be hugely popular with some parts of the show reaching millions by going viral online.

"Bosses are hoping the show can evolve and thrive even more by reaching a much broader audience on BBC One."

Beloved BBC One drama axed as lead star says 'we won't do another series'

The chat show comedy is based on the duo's hit podcast Sh*gged Married Annoyed which has amassed over 100 million downloads.

The TV show features a live studio audience as well as amusing segments such as It Goes Or I Go where a couple competes to get rid of an item of their partner's they don't like from the house.

Chris and Rosie's series joins a host of other popular programmes such as Peaky Blinders, Line Of Duty, The Apprentice and Top Gear which all started out on BBC Two before being promoted to the main channel.

The second series of the show is expected to begin before the summer and includes six brand new episodes.

Previously speaking about the recommission, the couple, both 36, said: “We are so over the moon that the first series of The Chris And Rosie Ramsey Show didn’t end in us getting divorced that we are willing to roll the dice and do it all again!

"There are so many more celebrity couples we want to have a laugh with, so many more members of the public who’s beefs we want to hear and SO MANY MORE bits of tat that we want to destroy.”

The Sun revealed in February how bosses at the BBC had axed two primetime shows from its BBC One schedule.

Catchpoint and I Can See Your Voice, both of which are presented by Paddy McGuinness, have been ditched.
