Since its first broadcast in October 1990, two series of Have I Got News For You have been commissioned each year.

The show moved from BBC Two to BBC One in 2000 and went on to achieve impressive ratings for much of its history.

Nearly 7 million people tuned in to an episode in 2002 and the programme has maintained it's loyal audience.

It proved something of a blueprint for many UK comedy panel shows, though it has outlasted many similar series, with Mock The Week ending last year.

The series has had a roster of celebrity and political guests fronting the show since permanent host Angus Deayton stepped down in 2002.
