A Place In The Sun’s Jonnie Irwin delighted fans as he dressed up as a superhero with his three sons.

The 49-year-old, who revealed his terminal cancer diagnosis last year, spent quality time with his boys – Rex, three, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two.

Jonnie told his followers: “3 superheroes under one roof. I’m not sure I’ll make the grade!”

In the touching clip Jonnie films as his eldest runs in and declares he is Cat Boy, from Disney's PJ Masks.

The twins dressed up as Hulk and Chase from Paw Patrol, while Jonnie fashioned a mask for himself.

His co-star Jasmine Harman commented: “Omg this is hilarious Jonnie. 😂 💙🤎💚 love them! I’ll lend you my Owlette mask next time.”

While Amanda Lamb remarked: “You’ve so made the grade and then some… I also love how you have coordinated the scarf with the mask…. Ever stylish xx”

And a fan added: “You are the biggest hero.”

The fun filled afternoon comes just days after Jonnie gave a heartbreaking health update.

In August 2020, Jonnie was given six months to live when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, which had spread to his brain.

Last week, he told The Sun: “I’m weak now, fragile and my memory is terrible… but I’m still here.”

He became emotional as he revealed he struggled to play football with his kids.

“I tried to play football with Rex the other day and was in goal and I couldn’t get near the ball. It was so frustrating,” he said.

“I’m very sporty and suddenly it’s just like…it was as if it was the first time I’d attempted football. I felt like a granddad. And that broke me a bit.

“I always thought, ‘I’m an older dad but I’ll be leading from the front’ but I’m now at the back.”
