Emmerdale fans distracted by blunder as Leyla Harding kidnapped in horror scenes

EMMERDALE viewers were left open-mouthed after Leyla Cavanagh  was kidnapped by her former drug dealer.

However, the scenes left Emmerdale fans scratching their heads as they wondered why nobody came to her aid.

Leyla crossed paths with Callum on a night out, which inspired an idea to get him in trouble with the police.

She recorded some incriminating footage, which showed Callum in the middle of yet another drug deal.

But Leyla soon regretted antagonising Callum, as he responded by threatening to hurt Jacob again.

Callum also attacked Leyla's best friend Suzy Merton when he found out that she was plotting against him too.

Caleb Miligan noticed Leyla in distress and went to check on her.

Sharing some advice, he suggested that she should play to win when it comes to Callum.

After giving this some thought, Leyla text Callum and arranged to meet up so they can sort things out once and for all.

Leyla gave Callum the money - but the situation escalated when Leyla was kidnapped by Callum. 

Viewers were horrified as things took a nasty turn for the worse, and despaired of Leyla's lack of common sense.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "For god's sake Leyla, as if you'd go alone to meet that nutter!"

Another wrote: "Definitely never give a dodgy person money and demand they stay away! They never definitely always come back for more!"

A third penned: "There is stupid and there is stupid, but what Leyla just did is worse."

But more eagle-eyed viewers couldn't help but noticed the wedding planner was being taken away on the main road leading up to the village, where traffic is normally frequent.

These viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama wondered how nobody saw Leyla's ordeal taking place.

"Isn’t that the main road to the village and yet no one drives along it", one fan notably penned.

Upcoming scenes will see Suzy get annoyed when Leyla fails to pick her up from the hospital as planned.

However, Suzy's irritation turns to panic when she learns that Leyla is missing and not answering her phone.

Word spreads that Leyla is in danger, but can her loved ones bring her back to safety?

Actress Roxy Shahidi, who plays Leyla, teased: "When Leyla meets up with Callum, she wants to pay him off.

"She thinks that if she can utilise every single financial asset she's got and offer him everything, that will resolve the situation because then he'll feel there's nothing left to take from her."
