Emmerdale fans rip into soap writers for giving ‘boring’ characters too much screen time
EMMERDALE fans are all saying the same thing about Amy Wyatt and Matty Barton's engagement.
Viewers were tempted to switch-off after noticing a certain "boring" couple was getting "too much" screen time.
Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty (Ash Palmisciano) announced their engagement to friend Victoria Sudgen.
The happy couple featured quite regularly during Monday's episode of the ITV soap which did not go unnoticed.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Is there anything blander than Amy and Matty?"
Another wrote: "Oh my gosh. Matty and Amy snore fest continues. They aren’t just boring. They are BORING."

A third penned: "I think there are two sets of scriptwriters, tonight's are the 'other' ones and as penance they get the most boring, cast members unlike the ones who wrote the lock in episode which was a master class."
The couple have had a tough time recently as they struggled with Kyle Winchester's custody battle.
Recent scenes saw Amy feeling that Cain had a malign influence on his son and decided that she wanted to move away with Kyle and Matty for a fresh start.
However, she soon backed down on her plan when she realised she didn't want to punish her son for their mistakes.
Also in Monday's episode, Leyla Harding was faced with the consequences of her actions when she tried to bring drug dealer Callum down.
Matters worsen as not only has she now put her own life in danger, but Callum has also threatened to harm her son Jacob.
Meanwhile, Laurel Thomas and Jai Sharma continue to look after Marshall Hamston after he was disowned by his dad Colin.
Jai told Laurel he was worried about the impact this could have on family life but unbeknownst to them, Marshall overheard their conversation.
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV1.
