A PLACE in the Sun’s Jasmine Harman reduced a couple to tears with a property she found that was £40,000 over their minimum budget in the Charente region of France.

While property expert Jasmine, 47, showed couple, Greg and Sarah, around the home they were blown away by the features having been disappointed by the places they’d seen earlier on in the Channel 4 show.

They were left open mouthed as they looked around the open plan kitchen and diner and dubbed the dining room “amazing”, before Sarah revealed, “It makes me want to cry,”

Visibly touched, Jasmine, sighed ‘ahhh’, before Sarah got emotional and cried happy tears. She said: “I’ve almost found what I’m looking for…I think we have.”

Jasmine had a difficult task on her hands in this episode of A Place in the Sun as the couple appeared to be especially particular over their holiday home.

The brief was for a four-bedroom property with a budget of £250,000 with a possible push to £300,000.

Sarah wanted a large French-style open plan kitchen, Greg’s request was a garage and they were united on having a pool or the opportunity and space to build one.

Jasmine was deflated after showing them the first property saying she was “disappointed” she said: “This isn’t what they were expecting but I had hoped they’d like it.”

The second property faired a little better but Jasmine was on tenterhooks about the size of the kitchen. The reaction improved as they were shown a three-bedroom house with an open-plan kitchen.

Sarah said: “We’re getting there but I don’t know if we’re there…For me, I love the kitchen but I go to the lounge and I don’t know if it’s grabbing me.” Greg added: “We’re fussy.”

Never deterred from a challenge, Jasmine, remained upbeat, she told them: “You’re really making me work for it. I totally get it, it has to be right.”

Eventually though, Jasmine found them the perfect holiday home and they put in an offer of £270,000 - almost £30,000 lower than the asking price, and the owner accepted their second offer of £285,000.

A Place in the Sun is available to stream on All 4.
