Channel 4 comedy favourite making return for King’s coronation

THE Windsors are returning to Channel 4 for a Coronation special.

The King (Harry Enfield), wants an epic day but Prince William (Hugh Skinner) hopes to have it scaled back to reflect the cost-of-living crisis, sparking another family row.

It airs close to the real May 6 event.

The Windsors is a comedy soap-opera inspired sitcom on an imagined life inside the Royal Family.

While the plot is often based around real-life events and landmark occasions in the household, the absurdist comedy puts their own twist on the family's life.

Other famous faces - including Donald Trump and Theresa May - also haven't been safe from the parody send-up.

Harry Enfield, who plays King Charles, has become one of the leading faces of British comedy over the past thirty years.

During his time in the limelight, characters including whinging teen Kevin, Gary Bloke and Dave Nice have become iconic.

He has also appeared in Men Behaving Badly, and sketch show troupes including The Fast Show.

In 2017, he joined the cast of Upstart Crow, playing John Shakespeare.

Hugh Skinner, who plays William, is a 32-year-old London based actor.

Over the past five years, he has had repetitive appearances on some of the UK's most successful sitcoms and comedy shows.

This includes; Harlots, W1A and Fleabag.

He also had a recurring role in the first two series of period piece, Poldark.
