Another tweeted: "The Late Great Ruth Madoc, this episode is bloody fantastic."
The episode, which saw Humphrey investigating the case of an entire family who had vanished, was packed with stars.
Among them were EastEnders' Phil Daniels as 'Marvellous' Harris and Derry Girls' Kelby Hartford as Dylan Llewellyn.
Ruth Madoc became a household name playing yellowcoat Gladys Pugh in the BBC's hugely successful TV series about a holiday camp set in the late Fifties.
In a career spanning decades, she also starred in Doctors, Benidorm, Little Britain and Casualty.
The actress died after she was rushed to hospital following a fall, which forced her to pull out of a festive pantomime performance.
But the day before her death, she had tragically reassured fans that she was on the mend.
She told fans: "I’m doing really well and will soon be back to normal."
