Louis Theroux ‘desperate’ to come face to face with Gordon Ramsay after public snub

TV legend Louis Theroux has admitted he is ‘desperate’ to meet Gordon Ramsay – despite the sweary chef saying the opposite.

The documentary maker shared his thoughts on the celebrity foodie after Gordon recently said he didn’t want to meet Louis because he would be too much of an excited fan.

Gordon told the Radio Times about Louis: “I’m determined not to meet him.

“I’ve just got this lovely perception of the clever quirkiness, the way he gets the question answered while looking so vulnerable.

“I’d just get too excited with him. I’m like a dog with a bone and Louis is super-reserved…”

But when attending the Urban Music Awards on February 28, Louis was quizzed about Gordon’s comments and revealed he was flattered to be held in such high regard.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Louis said of Gordon’s comments: “That’s an enormous honour.

“Like Gordon Ramsay, not just a legendary chef but a legendary maker of television.

“And I love his shows – it’s interesting because his style is so in your face and combative, and he never worries about being rude. He’ll tell people exactly what he thinks of them, whereas I’m more circumspect.”

Louis continued: “I’d love to meet Gordon. I actually think I’m pretty much the same person off camera, as on camera, but who knows, maybe he’d meet me in person and it would be a case of never meet your heroes, right?”

Addressing Gordon directly, Louis then sent a message to the Next Level Chef host.

“But Gordon, let’s hook it up,” he said. “Like you can do the food. I’ll do the chat, and I reckon I we would vibe. We’re a similar age.

“I’ve got kids, you’ve got kids, we could talk about stuff like food as that’s the foundation of a pretty good friendship.”

Louis recently made headlines after a tell-all interview, where he questioned musician Yungblud.

During a chat for part of his BBC2 Interviews documentaries, Louis encouraged Yungblud to open up about his crushes, to which the performer stated: “I think the beautiful thing about sexual expression is that it can change.

“It is not about the gender, it is about the person.”
