Will Mellor reveals plans for Two Pints of Lager reboot – leaving fans furious
WILL Mellor has revealed plans for a Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps reboot - leaving fans furious.
The BBC comedy originally aired from February 2001 to May 2011 and for the majority of its run starred Will, 46, Ralf Little, 43, Sheridan Smith, 41, Natalie Casey, 42, and Kathryn Drysdale, 41.
The show focused on the lives of five twentysomethings in Runcorn, Cheshire.
Over the weekend, the show's debut episode celebrated its 22nd anniversary, and after a Twitter account shared the news, Will replied: "Great memories!!"
A fan of the sitcom then tweeted the star: "If only they could do a one-off (series!) of Two Pints of Lager as the characters would be now."
Will then quoted their tweet and replied: "We have a script done!! It’s called 'Two Pints Last Orders'"

But before fans could get excited at the news, he added: "The BBC turned it down I'm afraid!"
Fans were not happy at the news, with one writing in reply: "Noooooo ! Get it done we have to have it."
Another added: "Nooooo really? Do you reckon it’s because some of the stuff that came out of it wouldn’t be accepted today? Such a shame! One of my fave shows that."
A third tweeted: "That’s so annoying, it would be great to catch up with Gaz and everyone (Johnny too now we know he’s still alive). Are you able to shop it around at all?"

Many others agreed with the suggestion of trying to get the reboot made on another network.
One wrote: "Get netflix or someone else to release it if that's possible? We all need to see it."
Another added: "Would Dave not action it or maybe even channel 4."
A third suggested: "Surely @UKTVPlay would pick it up - they do have form for that sort of thing on Gold."
