BBC One viewers will have to wait ten months before they can finally get all the details on the show's plans for the festive season.
Monday's trip to Walford ended in a grisly flashforward scene teasing the death of an unknown male victim.
Since then, fans of the London-based drama have been going wild, posting some of their wildest speculations online about who the victim and murderer could be.
The upcoming murder mystery involves six of Albert Square's most beloved matriarchs - Linda Carter, Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Sharon Watts and Denise Fox.

Much like the owner of Stacey's Baps who was seen with bloodied hands, the latter is one of the main suspects as she was seen holding a broken bottle of bubbly in hand, the supposed murder weapon.
However, eagle-eyed viewers have spotted another shocking detail about the hairdresser played by Diane Parish as they gathered up all the clues they could find.
"I thought she looked pregnant in the flash forward....maybe 3 months. Anyone else think so?", one fan commented on a Digital Spy forum.
In the scene, Denise can be seen dressed to the nines, wearing an emerald-green dress and her dark locks untouched.

But viewers are convinced they spotted the hint of a baby bump under her garment.
"I actually did wonder that myself", another soap fan commented, agreeing with the original poster.
But the majority of Digital Spy forum users were mostly left scratching their heads.
"Personally, I don't see it", one of them argued as another echoed: "No, she did not."
One viewer added: "Probably just the dress style, plus you know women's stomachs bloat. They already did the geriatric pregnancies with Denise and Sharon, way too over the hill now."
"Frankly, given Denise will only be a couple of weeks off turning 55 at Christmas 23, the idea she could be pregnant by any means other than IVF (and why, just why unless it is as a surrogate and the only person she'd do that for would be Libby) is jaw-droppingly unrealistic", another wrote.
