JODIE Whittaker's first role since her Doctor Who exit has been revealed.
In 2021 the actress, 40, dramatically quit the BBC series after making history by playing the first ever female Time Lord.
Her final Doctor Who episode, which aired last October, left fans in tears as she burst into a ball of yellow light to regenerate.
Now Huddersfield-born Jodie will star in Paramount+'s six-part drama, One Night.
She has jetted to Australia to play Tess, who is one of a trio of females at the heart of the story.
Paramount describes the plotline as "the story of three women whose bond was all but destroyed by the traumatic events of one night 20 years ago."

Producers Ian Collie, Rob Gibson and Ally Henville of Easy Tiger said: “One Night is a gripping, character-driven mystery that explores the boundaries of friendship, and questions our understanding of memory, trauma, and storytelling itself, all set against the majestic beauty of the south coast of New South Wales."
Meanwhile, Jodie's official Doctor Who exit statement in 2021 came after months of rumours that the acclaimed actress would be making her departure from the beloved sci-fi programme.
Speaking about her show exit, Jodie said: “In 2017 I opened my glorious gift box of size 13 shoes.
"I could not have guessed the brilliant adventures, worlds and wonders I was to see in them.
