The Bill legend unrecognisable as he appears in Netflix’s The Witcher

THE Bill actor Andrew Paul became a family favourite for years playing PC Dave Quinnan.

And so this why fans were forced to take a second look when he appeared in season two of Netflix's The Witcher, as he looked completely different.

The 61 year old actor, who joined The Bill in 1989 and stayed for 13 years, is now playing a merchant named Colin Coppercloth, in season two of the drama.

Dressed in a slightly dishevelled manner Andrew was a far cry from his everyday appearance.

Clearly a fan of the Netflix show, former BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker was quick to spot Andrew and took to Twitter to share the news with his 788,000 followers.

He wrote: "Can anyone beat PC Dave Quinnan from The Bill turning up in Season 2 of The Witcher (and lasting about 20 seconds) for a more random cameo?”

And Andrew tweeted back in jest: “It was 20 seconds of pure quality Dan!!”

The ITV drama first hit our screens in 1983 and ran until 2010.

During his time on the show, Andrew had a number of huge storylines including an affair and a stabbing.

Since leaving the show in 2002, Andrew went on to appear in EastEnders as Maxwell Moon, before joining the cast of Where The Heart Is as Billy Boothe.
