FORMER The Apprentice star Claude Littner took a savage swipe at this year's contestants with a brutal dig.

The 73-year-old, who appeared on the BBC show as Alan Sugar's aide between 2015 and 2022, took to Twitter to share his opinion on last night's episode.

Thursday's instalment of The Apprentice saw the remaining budding entrepreneurs create a new lunch box and app for children.

However it seems that Claude wasn't very impressed with what either of the teams came up with.

Claude wrote on Twitter: "These kids appear brighter than the Apprentice candidates!"

Many replied to his post sharing how much they can't wait for him to make a comeback on the show.

One said: "Really looking forward to seeing you in the interview phase."

"I cannot wait for you to be back to interview them!!!" a second added.

A third chimed in: "I miss you Claude."

Last year Claude only appeared at the interview stage of the programme, following a serious bike accident.

He joined The Apprentice in 2015, replacing Nick Hewer, Alan's aide, but this year Claude has been replaced by season one winner Tim Campbell.

Speaking at a Q&A for the new season, Lord Sugar said that Littner took a step back due to "medical issues".

"Obviously it's been a great journey starting with [former aide] Nick Hewer and then Claude. "Unfortunately, Claude suffered some medical issues and so I was asked to think of someone else – and who better than somebody who's actually been through the process," he said, referring to Campbell.

"So it was a bit of a no-brainer really, because when it comes to making excuses like these candidates do, you've got Tim there, who's been there, done that, seen it and heard it all," he continued.

"And that's why I warn the candidates also that there's no pulling the wool over his eyes, so to speak."

Claude suffered an injury on his bike back in April 2021.
