Long-running BBC show taken off air in major schedule shake up
THE BBC has had a major schedule shake up as Doctors is being taken off air all week.
The long-running medical drama usually airs at 1.45pm on weekdays on BBC One.
But last week, Wednesday and Thursdays episodes did not air following the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey which has left many dead.
The decision to cancel the show was made because it was set to feature a huge explosion.
The Doctors official Twitter account read: "In light of news in Turkey and Syria, today’s billed episode of Doctors will be replaced with Animal Park Heroes."
The episodes were called 'Hell is Empty' and 'Aftershock' and would have seen characters being pulled from the rubble after a bomb explodes during a medical conference.

The show did return last week with an episode called 'The Leaving Party', which is believed to have been set to air later this month.
But now Doctors has remained off air so far this week, and isn't listed in the TV schedules for the rest of it.
Suffice to say, fans are unimpressed, with one writing on Twitter: "@BBCDoctors okay, I get why you cancelled Wednesday's episode, but why did you cancel today's episode?"
Another tweeted: "Please let us know why doctors had been cancelled this week?"

A third raged: "Why for the second week running has an episode of @BBCdoctors been cancelled? In fact, why have ALL episodes of this soap been cancelled this week?
"The pathetic announcement today at 1.45p.m. that an old repeat of another programme would be shown instead is just not good enough."
A BBC spokesperson said, “In light of events in Turkey and Syria, Doctors will not be on air this week and will resume programming on February 20."
Doctors is available on BBC iPlayer.
