The gritty show - which is led by Sarah Lancashire and James Norton - has millions of fans who are keen to know if there will be another series.

Happy Valley kicked off in 2014 to rave reviews, and was followed by a successful second season in 2016.
After a long break, the BBC One show returned for a third series in 2023, with an even grittier plot than ever before.
Season three aired its last episode on Sunday, February 5, 2023, and we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the BBC has confirmed that this is the final series of Happy Valley.
Executive producer Will Johnston previously revealed that series creator Sally Wainwright and star Sarah Lancashire had agreed that the show “would only return once more” for season three.

“We’re really not doing any more. You’re a few weeks away from the ending but when you get to it,
When speaking of the ending Johnston added: "I really hope you’ll feel content that if that’s the last you ever see of the characters of Happy Valley, it was a big way to go out.
“The two vital things are that Ryan (Rhys Connah) is now at an age to make his own decisions about his life and the relationships in it, and [Sarah’s character] Catherine’s on the brink of retirement, and those felt like such juicy things to explore."

Season three had six episodes that aired on Sunday nights throughout January 2023 and early February 2023.
If you combine all three seasons together, there are a total of 18 episodes.

What is Happy Valley about?
Happy Valley follows no-nonsense police sergeant Catherine Cawood, who faces a series of horrific events involving her late daughter’s rapist Tommy Lee Royce.
Season three kicked off with Catherine discovering the remains of a murder victim in a drained reservoir.
The incident then led her back to evil Tommy, who is also the father of her grandson Ryan.
