The latest update shows the dad of five was forced to liquidise his main company in the run-up to Christmas after failing to meet its debts.

The firm’s statement of affairs reveals it was abandoned owing £1,199,773 to HMRC and £3,318 to other creditors.

Before wrapping it up, Middleton took out £2.7million as a “director’s loan” with the paperwork noting it is “uncertain” how much of that will be paid back.

The business — set up in 2014 — traded as Middleton Global before changing its name to Sway and Starting in November last year.

Middleton, an ex-Para, Royal Marine and Special Boat Service hero, claimed £20,000 in furlough money.

Accounts for his other firms — Antcolony Ltd, Middleton IP and Middleton Global IP — are showing as overdue on Companies House.

A spokesman for Ant said: “Due to the impact of lockdowns on Ant’s work and the associated adverse effects on the company, unfortunately Middleton Global Limited has had to be placed into voluntary liquidation.

“Ant has an extremely busy year ahead and is focused on his TV work, brand deals, books and events.”
