FANS of Coronation Street were left cheering as one evil character finally got their long-awaited comeuppance on tonight's episode.
Viewers of the ITV soap opera have waited for months to discover how the nasty Griff Reynolds will finally meet his fate and it all unravelled for the thug in tonight's episode.
After Max Turner, Griff's protegee, was let go from the police station her returned home to father David and grandmother Gail, who expressed her concerns that they could not simply just brush Max's actions off as that of all teenagers.
She let her feelings be known about how deeply wrong she thought Max's actions were as David insisted she go a bit easier on him.
As it appeared that David and Max were finally reconnecting again after months of tension, Max's girlfriend Lauren phoned asking to come over.
Lauren, the daughter of one of Griff's evil gang, persuaded Gail and David to leave the house so that she could talk to Max privately.

However, she had a wicked plan up her sleeve.
As Max sat on the sofa, Lauren sneakily let Griff in through the back door.
He begged Max to ask him to tell the Police that neither of them were involved in the horror bomb plot which almost took the life of Alya Nazir.
Expressing his doubts about how this would stand up to the Police, Max and Griff began to argue but were interrupted by a knock at the door from Daryan Zahawi.

Griff instructed Max to keep quiet and Daryan soon left after getting no response but then saw David out on the markets chatting to Alya where he told Max's father of his concern.
Daryan revealed that he had heard two men arguing in the house and assumed it was David which sent alarm bells ringing.
As David rushed hope, he was stunned to see Griff in his home attempting to fill Max's head once again.
Griff lashed out and insisted Max preferred him.
As the pair got into a violent scuffle, secret police officer Spider soon arrived with other officers in tow.
The officers tackled Griff off David as he turned to see Spider standing there.
A hot-headed Griff remarked: "Oh, it's you!"
Realising Spider had been undercover all along, Griff shouted: "How's the head Spider eh?"
As Spider arrested him. Griff was taken to the police car waiting outside where the Corrie residents looked on in disgust at the disgraced individual.
Fans at home rejoiced at Griff finally getting what was coming to him.
One fan wrote: "Griff has been caught!!! Thank God for that! Even better that it was Spider that arrested him!"
